10 Incredible At-Home Weight-Loss Exercises

Pushups
The first exercise you ever did may be the best you'll ever do: The classic pushup trains your chest, shoulders, triceps, abdominals, lower back, and glutes. Why does it burn fat? The more muscles you work, the more muscle you build. And muscles burn calories.
How to do it: Assume the classic pushup position: legs straight, hands beneath your shoulders. Now brace your core. Keeping your body rigid, lower yourself until your chest touches the floor. Then push back up until your arms are extended.

Bodyweight Squats
Leg exercises work hundreds of muscle fibers at once, and the muscles they target are huge—calorie-chompers like your quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes. And the squat may be a more effective muscle-builder and fat-burner than all other exercises—leg exercises as well as upper-body stuff—combined. Try this "prisoner" squat.
How to do it: Stand with your hands behind your head, your chest out, and your elbows back. Sit back at your hips and bend your knees to lower your body as far as possible without losing the natural arch of your spine. Squeeze your glutes and push yourself back to the starting position.

Pull-ups
What pushups are to pressing, pull-ups are to pulling: The granddaddy of all exercises. They work the biggest muscle group in your body—your latissimus dorsi—and train your back and biceps while testing strength and building endurance. Do as many as you can, and do more by going negative: Start at the top, then resist as you go down slowly.
How to do it: Start from a full hang, hands shoulder-width apart, palms facing away from you. Pull your chin up over the bar and then lower your body back down.

Step-Ups
Gym-goers spend hours on stair-climbers, but you can get a better workout, faster, with step-ups. Go up and down quickly and drive your knees up to get the maximum burn.
How to do it: Place one foot on a step and push down through your heel to lift your other leg up. Return to the starting position and finish all reps with one leg before switching legs and repeating the exercise.

Plank
It usually takes the stress of a job interview to get someone sweating this much without moving. But stabilizing your entire body—while simultaneously building a rock-solid core—in the plank position for 30 seconds will leave most anyone quaking.
How to do it: Assume a modified pushups position, with your elbows under your shoulders. Keep your shoulder blades back and down and your abs tight. Hold for 30 seconds, pause, and repeat.

One-Leg Romanian Deadlift
Single-leg exercises mimic real-life movement patterns and muscle challenges—meaning they're safe and "functional" exercises—all while testing your balance and mind—meaning you'll be working harder. This move is great for those strapped to a chair all day: It strengthens the hamstrings while building flexibility.
How to do it: Stand with your feet slightly more than shoulder-width apart. Raise one foot and extend it behind you, just off the floor. Contract your glutes, brace your abs, and keep your spine naturally arched. Focusing on balance, lower yourself until your torso is parallel to the floor. Initiate the movement by pushing your hips back. Push back up to the starting position.

Stick-Up
Don't be fooled by this simple exercise: Performed correctly—with your shoulders, elbows, and wrists in constant contact with the wall—it's a tough back exercise that challenges your central nervous system for additional calorie burn.
How to do it: Stand with your back against a wall, feet 6 inches away from the wall. Stick your hands up overhead. Keeping your shoulders, elbows, and wrists in contact with the wall, slide your arms down the wall and tuck your elbows into your sides. Return to the starting position.

T Pushup
There are hundreds of ways to tweak the classic pushup to make the all-time great exercise all new. This version includes rotation and core stabilization—both targeting and sculpting the abs.
How to do it: With hands shoulder-width apart on the floor, do a pushup. When your arms are straight, lift your right hand and rotate so that you raise your right arm straight up over your shoulder and your body forms a T. Bring your hand back to the floor. Do another pushup, working the left side.

V-Up and Roll
Crunches work—they just don't work smart or hard enough. Variations like this one reduce the stress on your back (smarter) and use more muscles together (harder).
How to do it: Lie on your back with your legs straight. Hold your arms straight above your chest, your fingers pointing toward the wall behind you. Contracting your abdominal muscles, fold your body up by lifting your legs off the floor and stretching your arms toward your toes. Keep your back straight. Pause, then return to the starting position.

Shoulder Press Pushup
Lots of classic bodybuilding moves boil down to one thing: Lifting heavy stuff over your head. But you don't need weights to get the same benefit. By using a bench (or chair), this pushup variation flips that over-the-head movement upside-down for a new twist that provides the same old results.
How to do it: Place your feet on a bench and hands on the floor slightly wider than shoulder-width. Pike your hips up in the air, so you are as vertical as you can be. Slowly lower your head to the floor. Pause, and push with your shoulders and triceps back to the start position.

EAS Whey Protein Review

This is quite simply the worst whey protein product I have ever tried. I decided to try it because it is less expensive then ON whey, the product I usually use. I have also tried cytosport whey, prolab whey, GNC whey, champion nutrition whey, nitrotech, bsn lean desert/syntha 6, and syntrax. So, I have experience with alot of the popular whey products and this one was by far the worst. I expected a much better product from EAS.

TASTE 2/10
I tried vanilla and it tastes more like hay and feet. I'm not sure why hay but thats just what it reminds me of.

MIXABILITY 1/10
Just not possible to mix with a spoon. Most other products I have tried will mix with a spoon, but not this one. ON casien mixed better with a spoon than this product. It globs up and sticks in massive clumps to the spoon and glass.

EFFECTIVENESS 5/10
This is a tough category to evaluate with a protein powder so all I will say is that it didn't effect my progress one way or another. I would expect EAS to make a quality whey protein complex, however judging by the taste I can't be sure.

OVERALL 3/10
Steer clear of this crap! Spend your money on ON whey. I wrote this review because I have never been more disappointed with a product. There is a certain quality standard in the supplement market now and this product just does not meet it.

The Harmful Effects Of Cell Phone Use

Over the past decade the world has seen rapid growth in cell phone users. Everyone from older adults to kids in high school seem to carry one glued to their ears, without understanding the possible health ricks associated with the use of cellular telephones.

To begin with, a recent scientific journal published in 2007 titled Long term use of cellular phones and brain tumors, concluded after assessing results from many different studies that use of cell phones for more then 10 years does show increased risk for acoustic neuroma and glioma. Adding that the risk is highest for ipsilateral exposure, meaning tumor on the same side of the brain where phone mostly held.

Research scientists behind this journal assert that most studies to date on cell phone use and brain tumors have been mostly conducted with an insufficiently long latency period. This journal report gives excellent reviews of other studies and evidence of data entry errors, systematic bias and mathematical errors within those studies.

Argument against studies which used short term recall of mobile phone use, is well argued by giving evidence that actual use of cell phones is usually underestimated by light users and overestimated by heavy users, reducing the data strength of interphone studies. In the same way, results showing increased risk for acoustic neuroma and glioma from various other studies on use of mobile phone for more then 10 years are given supporting their conclusion.

Furthermore, another study published in 2006 completed by 3 scientists in Sweden also conform a increased risk for malignant brain tumors in groups with use of cellular and cordless phones for more then 10 years. Similar to the above study, the scientists associated with this report also mention the weakness of so-far studies to be their too short a latency period.

Evidence of errors in other studies for example, Danish interphone study, in which many data entry errors had occurred due to problems in understanding words of Galioma patients due to paralysis has been well argued. They propose that their method of assessing the use of cellular and cordless phones by questionnaires to be more sensible.

Moreover, interesting evidence brought up in this journal report about a completed REFLEX-study is important to mention here. The REFLEX-study which tested for genotoxic effects in cells exposed to radio frequency electromagnetic fields at SAR (whole-body Specific Absorption Rate) levels between 0.3 and 2 watt/kg showed evidence for. Increase in single and double strand DNA breaks finding of choromosomal aberrations were observed in fibroblasts and intracellular increase of free radicals in HL-60 Cells.

Evidence from the REFLEX-study coupled with the evidence from their own study, the Swedish scientists concluded that the current allowed SAR of 2 watt/kg in Europe is inappropriate.

Conversely, it is important to make known to our readers that the maximum SAR level in United States and Canada has been capped at 1.6W/kg (FDA).

Finally, a journal published in 2007 Mobile phone use and risk of glioma is 5 North European countries, show somewhat mixed results. This particular studies results were based on combined data from Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Southeast England, where mobile phones have been widely used for at least a decade. This study looked at reasonably large group of people. Total of 2,530 glioma patients and 6,581 controls had participated in this study.

Nonetheless, it is surprising to know that their conclusions are not as clear as in previous studies we mentioned. This study claims to find no elevated risk of Glioma among groups most exposed. Neither did they find any significant association across, categories with duration of use, years since first use, cumulative number of calls or cumulative hours of use.

They also claim to find no increased risks when analogue and digital phones were tested separately. However, this study did find one set of analyses which indicates a possible connection. This connection was between, reported ipsilateral use 10 or more years ago associated with significantly increased risk of glioma and there was also an increasing tread with years since first use on the ipsilateral side.

Lastly, we recommend that consumers seek information about what SAR level their cell phone uses. SAR information is easily found in instructional materials that come with the phone or can be found on many web sites. We recommend consumers to use cell phones that operate at lowest possible value of SAR, and to try to limit the use of cell phones or invest in a hands free headset for cell phones until more absolute evidence is obtained.

WATER TREATMENT

” WATER ” – a Medicine itself

DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven a its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:

Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.
METHOD OF TREATMENT

1.. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water

2.. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute

3.. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.

4.. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours

5.. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.

6.. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/ reduce main diseases:

1.. High Blood Pressure – 30 days

2.. Gastric – 10 days

3.. Diabetes – 30 days

4.. Constipation – 10 days

5.. Cancer – 180 days

6.. TB – 90 days

7.. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily.

This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.

It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life.

Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.

This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals …not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain…

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.

It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this “sludge” reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks: Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting.

Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.

Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.

60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.

Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let’s be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

CALPOL

Main Ingredient:

Acetaminophen(US)/ Paracetamol (UK)
Calpol is an antipyretic and analgesic medicine primarily used to reduce fever and to relieve minor aches and pain associated with common cold, flu, toothaches, arthritis, menstrual cramps, and other conditions. Calpol is most commonly used by people who are sensitive or allergic to aspirin. Although, Calpol is not effective against inflammation, compared to Aspirin or Ibuprofen, it is well tolerated by most people, including children and has few side effects.

CALPOL CAUTION

People with known liver problem or condition should not take Calpol. Combining Calpol with alcohol increases the likelihood of liver toxicity.

Every year more than 800,000 people in the United States alone, die from the so-called "Tylenol poisoning" (Tylenol is a brand name of Acetaminophen/Paracetamol), which is caused by taking more than recommended doses of Acetaminophen/Paracetamol or by habitual or long term use.

Do not take Calpol if fever lasts for more than 3days and if pain gets worse or lasts for more than 10 days, unless advised by your physician.

As with any medicine, if you are pregnant or nursing, check with your doctor before taking Calpol.

CALPOL SIDE EFFECTS

Calpol rarely causes side effects as long as it is taken as directed. However, prolonged or habitual use of Calpol may lead to liver damage or failure.

Rare side effects of Calpol may include hives, rash, short breath. If you experience any side effects, stop taking the medicine and report it to your health care provider right away.

CALPOL INTERACTIONS

Consult with your physician before combining Calpol with any nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (Aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen), blood thinners like warfarin, and oral contraceptives.

Combining Calpol with alcohol can increase the likelihood of liver toxicity.

Let your doctor know if you are taking any herbs as some may interfere with its effectiveness.

High doses of Vitamin C (1000-3000mg/day) may increase the level of Calpol in the body.

CALPOL OVERDOSE

Symptoms of Calpol overdose may include excessive sweating, fatigue, nausea, and vomiting.

In case of Calpol overdose, seek medical attention right away.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. However, if it is just about time for your next dose, skip the one you forgot and go on with your regular schedule. Never take a double dose of Calpol.

BEEPEN-VK

Beepen-VK is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of infections, including sinusitis, strep throat, pneumonia, respiratory tract, ear infections, dental abscesses, skin infections, and STDs like gonorrhea and syphilis, infections of the genital and urinary tract.

Beepen-VK kills bacteria by destroying the cell walls of the invading microorganisms. However, moil is not effective against viruses and fungi and there are a number of bacteria, the so-called "super bugs", that are resistant to penicillin antibiotics including Beepen-VK.

BEEPEN-VK CAUTION

If you are allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, check with your physician before taking Beepen-VK.

People with Cystic fibrosis are more prone to side effects from penicillin antibiotic like Beepen-VK.

Those who are using oral contraceptives should switch to other methods of contraceptives while taking Beepen-VK.

BEEPEN-VK WARNING

If you have ever had asthma, hives, hay fever, or other allergic reaction to penicillin consult with your physician before taking Beepen-VK.

Stop taking Beepen-VK if you experience reactions such as rash, fever, itching, joint pain, swollen lymph nodes, and or sores on the genitals.

It is imperative to take Penicillin V for the entire course your physician has prescribed. Even if you feel better, you should to continue taking Beepen-VK.

Beepen-VK should not be taken on an empty stomach.

Tell your physician if you have ever had asthma, colitis, diabetes, or kidney or liver disease before taking Beepen-VK.

BEEPEN-VK SIDE EFFECTS

Side effects of Beepen-VK may include upset stomach, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, colitis, confusion, convulsions, dizziness, hives, liver problems and jaundice, fungal infections, rash, tooth discoloration in children, and appetite loss.

Beepen-VK may cause vitamin deficiency. It is recommended to take daily multivitamins while taking Beepen-VK.

BEEPEN-VK DOSES

ADULTS
125-500 mg every 6-8 hours.

CHILDREN
12-25 mg per pound of body weight, in 3-4 doses, daily.

BEEPEN-VK OVERDOSE

Symptoms of Beepen-VK overdose may include short breath, diarrhea, nausea, stomach cramps, vomiting.

If you suspect Beepen-VK overdose, seek medical attention right away.

DEXAMETHASONE

Dexamethasone is a topical corticosteroid given to treat the rash, itching, inflammation, and other forms of skin disorders including eczema and psoriasis. Drugs like Dexamethasone do not cure the cause of these problems but they can quickly relieve the symptoms by interfering with the production of various substances in the body that cause these skin disorders. That is why it is imperative that corticosteroids like Dexamethasone should not be used without prior consultation of your physician, as these conditions could be a symptom of a larger problem.

Dexamethasone is for external use only.

CAUTION

Avoid using large amounts of Dexamethasone over large areas of your body as this could lead to needless side effects somewhere else in the body.

Topical corticosteroids like Dexamethasone should not be used as the exclusive treatment for serious skin diseases like herpes, fungus, or skin tuberculosis.

Do not use Dexamethasone if you ever had an allergic reaction from using it in the past.
Prolonged use of topical corticosteroids like Dexamethasone near the eyes may cause cataracts or glaucoma.

Children are more at risk of serious side effects from Dexamethasone. Dexamethasone should not be given to infants under one year of age or for children older than 1 year more than 3 weeks.

DEXAMETHASONE SIDE EFFECTS

Common side effects of using Dexamethasone may include allergic reaction, rash, irritation, acne, itching, and discoloration of skin. The side effects are more likely when the treated area is covered with waterproof bandage.

Use of large quantities of topical corticosteroids like Dexamethasone over large parts of your body should be avoided as large quantities may be absorbed into the blood stream, which could lead to serious side effects.

DEXAMETHASONE INTERACTIONS

Check with your physician before combining Dexamethasone with other steroids.

DEXAMETHASONE AND PREGNANCY

Topical corticosteroids like Dexamethasone may cause birth defects especially when applied in large amounts. If you are or think you may be pregnant, do not use Dexamethasone without first checking with your doctor.

Nursing mothers should switch to bottle feed while using Dexamethasone.

DEXAMETHASONE DOSES

Consult with you doctor or pharmacist as the doses vary with each condition.

DEXAMETHASONE OVERDOSE

There are no known symptoms of Dexamethasone overdose. However, if you suspect Dexamethasone overdose, seek medical help right away.
